May is a very active month here at Gramma Sue's.  We celebrate several staff birthdays, Staff Appreciation Week, Mother's Day, National day of Prayer, Graduation and Memorial Day.

We will be hold our Graduation ceremony in late May or possible early June.  We are still searching for a venue.  Our past venue is unavailable.  At our graduation ceremony each class preforms finger plays, songs or skits.  We then present Certificates of Attendance to all children.  We also present Graduation Certificates and gifts to the children who will be attending Kindergarten in the fall.  After our ceremony we have a small reception with cookies and punch.  Graduation always proves to be a great time for all who attend!

Spring is in the air!  Our classrooms are starting to spend more time outside now that the weather is slowly getting warmer. 

Inside the classrooms children are learning about Dr. Seuss, weather and seasons.  The children are also learning about the numbers 1-20, letters s,t,u, our color of the month is blue, and the shape of the month is the rectangle.

The classrooms are also learning about St. Patrick's Day and Easter.  On March 20th we will have a center wide Easter Egg Hunt!  Day Care will be closed on March 21st in observance of Good Friday.

We have many new friends joining us during the month of March.  We also have a new staff member joining our team.  Ms. Ashley joins us as our new Qualified Breaker.  She will visit each classroom during the day, then spending the evening with the infants!

Summer is in full swing!  We are starting to gear up for the start of school.  The kids are spending a lot of time outside enjoying the great weather we have been having.  The sand box, water days and hunting for Cicada shells have been at the top of everyone's list. 

Many of the classes are reviewing their letters, numbers and colors so that it is "fresh" for when our curriculum starts over in September.

Twinkles the ice cream truck is set to come on August 4th and we already have kids asking "how much longer?"!  Too cute!

Our director, Ms. Gwen, will be back from maternity leave on August 6th.  We missed her while she was gone and are excited to get to know her new son Amos.
